The just-released WHO report on noise pollution provides strong evidence that noise is one of the top environmental hazards to both physical and mental health and well-being in the European Region.

In Collaboration with the Marineterrein, Sensemakers are looking into the possibility to use sound sensors and artificial intelligence to help create a more livable city. The evening will be opened by Arre Zuurmond, Ombudsman Metropool Regio Amsterdam. Next, we’ll have talks from the Waag and startups like SensorTeam & SensingClues, sharing the latest possibilities and experiences. We end with a brainstorm on how we, as a community, can contribute & learn in a collaboration to generate new ideas and prototypes as we did in the water quality project.

Doors open at 18.00 for networking. The program starts at 18.30 and ends around 21.00.

Location: Pension Homeland, Vollaerskamer.

About Sensemakers:

During our meetups, we talk and do Internet-of-Things, Sensors, Arduino, RaspPi, electronics and more. Ranging from projects (Air Quality Egg, Open Thermostat, waterbuoy), presentations (IoT& Blockchain, Security, AI etc), events and just getting together to talk. Everybody is welcome: Technical, non-technical or just interested. If you like to know more, be involved or are just curious: Just come to one of our regular meetups. In addition, we want to bring in speakers for each event, who can share their thoughts, experiences and wisdom. So if you know someone, let us know.
