Translator for Module 'arbeidsmarkt en participatie'. Help people to understand the dutch labour market in their own language: Kurdish, Portugese, French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese.

About us

OpenEmbassy is a social enterprise working towards a just, humane, and effective reception of newcomers in the Netherlands. Based in Amsterdam and working nationally, we drive systemic change in collaboration with newcomers. In Leeuwarden, we organise and host monthly trainings for newcomers for their integration into dutch society.

Your role as an interpretor

Depending on demand of the languages spoken by newcomers, you will be invited to join 2,5 hour training sessions. You provide direct translation from Dutch or English to the native language of the listener.

Who are we looking for?

Were looking for someone who:

  • Enjoys connecting with people, even across language and cultural differences
  • Can empathize with newcomers
  • Takes initiative and works independently
  • Preferably has gone through Dutch immigration (nieuwe inburgeringswet)
  • Speaks Dutch or English and can translate to native or near native level in another language.
  • Can work as a freelancer and schedule trainings in advance.
