One of the buildings on the site, Building 027E, is currently undergoing renovation to turn it into a representative building with three storeys of 500 m2 each.
Bureau Marineterrein Amsterdam is looking for trend-setting users for this building, who can offer unexpected and inspiring interpretations for new ways of working and connecting and new cultural uses.
We call on companies and organizations that are looking for business accommodation in which to achieve their plans and carry out their activities to submit their vision and business plan for the use of one or more storeys of the building.
Three functions are uppermost in the realization of Building 027E:
Work
The world’s best entrepreneurs work here on innovative products, services, and ideas. They want not only to improve themselves, but also to make the world a sustainable and tolerant place for future generations. They take risks, possess foresight, are energetic, innovate continually, and are open to and interested in their surroundings.
Convergence
Amidst the current plethora of information and contacts, selecting information, knowledge, and acquaintances is based more and more on personal filters. Real people with real conviction in a real environment can help and inspire each other towards innovation, perception and cooperation. Building 027E is a meeting place for people and ideas from all over the world, people who show respect for others and for other opinions, listening to them attentively and thinking hard about them.
Culture
Culture offers a different reality. It entices a wide cross-section of society to consider new perceptions and allows people to familiarize themselves with social, cultural and technological innovations. Here the public will be encouraged to take part in the debate on it and to take action to facilitate the changes.
The functions can be fulfilled by one, two or three tenants. The function ‘work’ is regarded as the driver, meaning that ‘convergence’ and ‘culture’ are oriented in part to facilitating ‘work’.
Timetable
The deadline for submitting applications is 15 July 2015, after which the jury will invite five candidates to write a business plan for their intended purpose for the building. The jury consists of Bureau Marineterrein, StartupDelta, and Startup Amsterdam. The candidates will pitch their ideas on 26 August. The selected candidate(s) will be announced later that month.
